Par and Yardage– Timberlin Golf Club will play at a par of 36-36 — 72 for both the Boys and Girls divisions. The Boys will be playing at approximately 6650 yards and the Girls will be playing at approximately 5615 yards.

About Timberlin GC– Timberlin Golf Club was founded in 1970 and designed by Al Zikorus. It is owned and operated by the Town of Berlin, and recently underwent a $2 million renovation in 2005, which included a complete overhaul of all the bunkers and a new sprinkler system. It has played host to many events throughout the state, most recently the US Mid Amateur Qualifying.

Player Storylines

Ryan Lee– The two time champion will be defending his title and vying for an unprecedented three-peat. Ryan shot 69 to claim the tournament title by four shots last year and will be attending Long Island University on a golf scholarship this fall.

Alex Diclemente– At age 16 won both the Connecticut Junior and the CT Junior PGA Championship this summer. Alex defeated Michael Smith, who will also be playing in the Northern Junior, 2&1 in the Connecticut Junior.

Jeff Evanier– At age 17 won the Francis Ouimet Junior Classic, one of the biggest events on the US Challenge Cup tour. He shot rounds of 71-71 to win by one stroke.

Blake Morris- Comes in as the highest ranked junior in the field, currently #77 in the Polo Junior Rankings. Blake recently finished 8th at the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions and 12th at the Connecticut Open.

Joshua Edelson/Albrianna Farnum– Joshua, 18 and Albrianna, 15 were the 2008 Connecticut Junior Players of the Year. Joshua dominated the points race, winning by a stellar 125 points, and Albrianna defeated fellow Northern Junior competitor Katherine Partridge by 23 points.

Julia Kemmling– At age 12, Julia will be the youngest competitor in the field and will be graduating high school in 2015. She cites her most memorable golf experience as eagling the first hole of the 2008 U.S. Kids World Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and shot an impressive 37 at age 11 to qualify.

Mary Boisssoneault– Mary is an avid sports writer and photographer and manages the Southington High School wrestling team. She also works for the Southington High athletic director and enjoys photography.

John Stepensky– At age 13, will be one of the youngest competitors in the Boys Division and plays out of Timberlin Golf Club. He cites his most memorable golf experience as making his first hole on one on the par-3 12th at Timberlin.

Fabio Colon– Fabio is a 3-time member of the Academic All-Conference Team for East Hartford and recently won the American Federation of School Administrator’s Student Leadership Award.

Jeff Divinere– Jeff is a natural left-handed person but plays golf righty. His low round is 67 at Farmington CC and will graduate in 2010.
