Unfortunately, due to the heavy overnight rain received and the forecast for heavy rain and severe thunderstorms throughout the day, the Monday Practice Round has been cancelled. The golf course and all practice facilities are closed to play for the entire day.

The Wethersfield CC grounds team will be working diligently throughout the day to ensure that the golf course is playable for the first round tomorrow, which is scheduled to begin as planned.

Walking the Course: As there may be a short break in the rain, players and parents wishing to walk the course may do so beginning at 10:00 a.m., provided there is no severe weather nearby. Below is information for walking the course:

  • Players wishing to walk the course must register at player registration first and indicate they are intending to go out and walk the course.
  • Players are not permitted to bring golf clubs on the course and may not practice any shots on course.
  • Players and families are not permitted on the putting greens at any time.
  • Due to several holes being flooded, please stay on the cart paths where present at all times.
  • Carts are not available.
  • A single blast of the horn indicates severe weather is nearby and you are required to evacuate the course.

Additionally, players wishing to practice can visit the Stanley Golf Course (approx. 20 minutes from Wethersfield CC), which has a full-length covered driving range that is covered and a short game area. At this time, the range is open and range balls can be purchased with credit card. The address is 245 Hartford Rd, New Britain, CT 06053.

Player registration will be available from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Wethersfield CC clubhouse, as well as from 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. prior to the welcome reception. Players will receive their player gifts upon registration, which includes a championship yardage book. Players are also welcome to register on Tuesday morning prior to their starting time.

The welcome reception will be held indoors in the main Wethersfield CC clubhouse and will begin at 5:30 p.m. The menu will feature a BBQ-style dinner and ice cream sundae bar. Weather pending, we will look to conduct the Long Drive Contest on the #1 tee at 6:45 p.m. following the welcome reception and scholarship presentation.
