ELIGIBILITY: Entry is open to any male or female amateur golfer who has not reached their 19th birthday on or before August 6, 2025. All players must be an amateur golfer as defined by the USGA.
ENTRY FEE- Entry Fee of $325 includes complimentary practice round, two rounds of tournament play, players lunch both tournament days, player gifts and invitation to Players Dinner on Monday, August 4.
APPLICATION PROCESS: There is no fee to submit a Championship Application. The deadline for submitting an application is Thursday, May 15. After the deadline, selections will be made via the below criteria and a waiting list will be established. Those players who are accepted to the field will be required to pay the championship entry fee at that time.
REFUND POLICY: Any player who is accepted to the Northern Junior and withdraws prior to Sunday, July 27th will receive their full entry fee refunded (less a $25 service fee).
Entries for the 2025 Northern Junior Championship will open on Saturday, March 1st.
2025 Entry Criteria
1) Championship Application
There is no fee to submit a Championship Application. The deadline for submitting an application is Thursday, May 15. After the deadline, selections will be made via the below criteria and a waiting list will be established. Those players who are accepted to the field will be required to pay the championship entry fee at that time.
The early application window will close on May 15th. At that time, the field will be selected by (i) any players meeting the automatic exemptions, and (ii) all applicants who applied using the Junior Golf Scoreboard ranking for selection criteria. A total of 20 spots will be reserved for the open qualifiers, Race to the Northern Junior and the Boys/Girls Connecticut Junior Amateur Champion.
Should withdrawals occur after the initial field is announced, the field will continue to be filled by the pool of applicants on the waiting list in order of JGS ranking. Players may apply after May 15th and be placed on the waiting list. The wait list will be constantly updated for both genders and the highest ranked player at the time the spot is made available will be offered a spot in the field.
2) By Earning Spot through Open Qualifier
Two separate local qualifiers for the 2025 Northern Junior will be held on Sunday, June 8 at Wintonbury Hills GC (Bloomfield, Conn.) and Monday, July 14 at Triggs Memorial GC (Providence, R.I.).
3) The Race to the Northern Junior
The Race to the Northern Junior consists of junior events throughout the northeast in order to provide an additional pathway for local players to earn their way into the tournament field. Points will be awarded at each event for top finishers.
Following the conclusion of the Race to the Northern Junior, the top 5 Boys and top 3 Girls will be extended an invitation to compete in the Northern Junior. If one of the invitees has already accepted a spot in the field or declines the invitation, the next highest point finisher will be invited.
There is no fee or registration required to participate in the Race to the Northern Junior. Points will be tabulated based on the final results of each event, and at the conclusion of the Race to the Northern Junior, the top finishers will be contacted via e-mail to accept their spot in the 2025 Northern Junior.
